Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Maulana Syed Abu Iftikhar Zaidi, known as Fakhr-e-Asr, is a Shia scholar and khateeb of Lucknow who comes from a family of scholars.
He has written and compiled books on fiqh, Islamic history and the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.): Sahi Wuzoo aur us ki Fazeelat, Karbala-e-Mualla, Khutbaat-e-Eidain, Tareekh-e-Baitullah, Khutbaat-e-Juma (ninety-six Friday sermons) and Ma'dan-e-'Ismat on the life of Hazrat Faatima Zahra (s.a.), all published by Bait-ul-Ghadeer, Lucknow. Introducing his Friday sermons, Ayatullah Syed Hamid-ul-Hasan, head of Madrasa Nazimiya, Lucknow, called them "truly a scholarly achievement".
He has recited majlis in the imambargahs and azakhanas of Lucknow and the Shia villages around it, across India in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, and abroad in Dubai, Muscat, Iran and Moscow, and among the Shia communities of East and Central Africa: Dar es Salaam, Kenya, Kampala, Rwanda, Burundi and Congo. His majlis and talks are broadcast on channels such as Khadijah TV, Abbasiya TV and Imam Hussein TV.
